05 - Palakkad |

Today
we can go for full day sightseeing of palakkad which
includes the Palakkad Fort and the Nelliampathy waterfalls.
The most important attraction in the town is the Fort,
which dates back to 1766, built by Hyder Ali of Mysore.
In 1784 after a siege which lasted for eleven days,
the British Colonel Fullerton stormed the Fort. From
here we go to Nelliyampathy forest.

Nelliyampathy is a forest range 75 kms from Palghat
hills which comprise of a chain of ridges divided
by valleys of dense evergreen forests and orange
plantations. The height of the hills range from
467 metres to the tallest peak Padagiri looming
at 1572 metres. Accessing Nelliyampathy from Palghat
is a sensation on its own, as you negotiate over
a dozen hairpin curves on the ghat road passing
through the fascinating jungles of the Sahya Ranges.
At the end of the day we drive back to the hotel
for an overnight stay.

06 - Calicut |

|
In
the morning after breakfast we proceed to Calicut.
Calicut or Kozhikode is situated in the south Indian
state of Kerala on the southwest coast of the Arabian
Sea. Kappad in Calicut is the place where Vasco da
Gama set foot for the first time when he came to India
on May 27, 1498. Rest of the day we are free to relax
and stay overnight at the resort.

On
the 7th day of our tour,we can go for sightseeing
of Calicut and in the evening we can witness the
Martial Art Form of Kerala the "Kalarippayattu".
Kalaripayattu is one of the oldest martial arts
in the world. The original martial art form evolved
in north Kerala. In Malayalam, Kalaripayattu means
'the fighting art of the Kalari'. Overnight stay
at the Hotel.Next day we start to Wayanad.

08 - Wayanad |

|
|
In
the afternoon we can visit the three tired powerful
water falls at Soochipara near Meppadi 22 kms. south
of Kalpetta. We can view a three step water fall of
more than 200m height with a fantastic scenary. It
provides for white water rafting, swimming, bathing,
etc., The tree top huts at Soochipara will give unique
view of the valleys of Western Ghats. The cliff face
here is ideal for rock climbing.

have the evening Bonfire with Music and dinner here.
The word Wynad has been derived from the expression
'Wayalnadu' which means the land of paddy fields.
Wyanad is renowned for Coffee, tea, caradamom, pepper
and rubber plantations. Overnight stay at the hotel.
